Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders have congratulated the Bangladesh National Cricket Team as it secured a thumping eight-wicket victory against New Zealand in their first Test at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.

“The Bangladesh Tigers beat the World Champions in their own den, with a victory for the ages! Congratulations, @BCBtigers,” Kolkata Knight Riders said in a tweet.

“Huge congratulations to @BCBTigers from @rajasthanroyals and for the millions of cricket fans in #Bangladesh for a historic win at the first Test in New Zealand! Great way to start the New Year, in the #ShubornoJayanti of Bangladesh,” said Jake Lush McCrum, the Chief Executive Officer at Rajasthan Royals, in separate tweet.

Jake Lush McCrum also hailed Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Doraiswami for his role to connect India and Bangladesh.

“Congratulations also to the good people like @VDoraiswami, working to connect both India and Bangladesh, whether in cricket or otherwise,” reads the tweet of the CEO Rajasthan Royals.

An extremely special chapter has unfolded on Wednesday in Bangladesh cricket history as the Tigers toppled the number one ranked Test side to break New Zealand’s 17-match unbeaten run on home soil.

Bangladesh won the first Test at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui by eight wickets and lead the two-Test series 1-0.
